What if you have a TED talk inside you?
What if your Original Wisdom has always been there but got covered over?
What if that time decades ago when you were told to ‘be quiet’ or ‘you’re crazy’ or ‘your opinion doesn’t matter’ or ‘get in line’—what if that moment years ago that silenced you still silences you?
Take a moment a think back to that incident.
Here are some SILENCERS I’ve heard you tell me:
You’re just a dumb blonde
You’re too intense
You’re crazy and everyone knows it
You don’t know what you’re talking about
That can never be done
When these sorts of words are spoken to us from voices of ‘authority’ we tend to keep a stiff upper lip (interesting expression) and grow up! We ‘get over it’!
We get quiet.
The part of you that experienced being silenced doesn’t get over it. Not until you bring conscious awareness to her or him. Conscious awareness, love, and an invitation to speak, to find her language, her voice and to let it out.
This younger voice that was silenced is very much part of the adult achievements you long to manifest. In fact, without retrieving the younger self and integrating her sweetness and wisdom and uniqueness, your adult creations, successes, and manifestations will be status quo.
And who wants that? Not me. I’ll bet you don’t either. The world is too noisy for more of the same.
I believe that each of you has your original wisdom—your own ‘ted talk’ to share.
So how do you start to think about and compose your own Ted Talk?
- Decide to do this for yourself. Not for some external approval. Your voice and your wisdom are within you for your own strength and pleasure. You must ground yourself in your own voice first. The beauty of finding your voice is how it connects you to your deeper Self.
- Keep a spiritual journal or a soul-words journal. Only by consistently cultivating your relationship to your own voice through language will you learn to tune in to the brilliance that is there.
- Clear and heal the voices you created to manage the world. The voices that tell you that you are ‘nothing special’. The ones I mentioned above.
- Identify the incident when you decided to become silent. How old were you? Connect to that inner part and let her speak now.
- Ask yourself what would you teach others if you had a short time to live? Write this down. Just write. Don’t edit. Listen for your voice. Let it come through. If you are freer with the spoken word rather than the written word, use a tape recorder.
This is a opportunity to go deep and discover core wisdom and unfold aspects of yourself that weren’t clear before. When you know you who are that the level of Voice, then you walk in the world grounded in your own truth. All else comes from this.
