Silence

I like to be very quiet on Saturday mornings.  Usually, it’s unscheduled time for me.  I check emails.  Drink coffee.  Meditate.  Write.  Read the only blog I read, called On Being.

On this Saturday I feel compelled to write to all of you.  We are connected — in an odd sort of way– through the Internet.  And though many of you I have met either on Skype or in person at workshops, most of you I have not met.

Yet there’s a connection.

I’m writing this because I’m upset and not sure what to do about it.  I’m upset that there is literally insanity going on in the world on a large scale yet most of us do not know what to do about it.

I came of age during the Vietnam War.  We had no cell phones, no Internet, and yet people organized and protested and ended the war.

That was a long time ago.  My path in life is that of a healer.  A wounded healer.  A practical mystic and teacher of consciousness.  When I was young, I considered for a very brief time running for political office.  So I guess the humanitarian in me has always been there.  But I value the quiet solitary moments of communion with Spirit too much to be that busy in the outside world.

But I feel compelled, like I said, to write about the ‘world’ right now.  In America we’ve had 355 mass shootings in 2015.  Only now is the New York Time putting a gun violence editorial on their front page.  People, even those with considerable power such as the NYT editorial board, have stayed silent for a long time.  Why is that?  What is the silence?

I think the silence is breaking now.  And the silence lives in us all.  Each one of us is a Divine Being of Love with a purpose and destiny to express our heart, our love, our unique perspective on life and the world.  No matter what your station in life, you are a leader of your own Self.  You are a leader.  Think about that.  Can you imagine or conceive of yourself AS a leader?

I believe that part of the insanity we see is a reflection of the old world of patriarchal dominion falling apart.  One of the characteristics of that system is the subjugation of others.  Those of us who have been subjugated—women, people of color, children, animals— must take back our original wisdom and Light.  We must become the leader that we were intended to be.  We must rise up in our own way, in our own life.  We must speak out for those who have no voice, such as animals and children.  The men in our world who embody the true masculine energy of honor, protection and deep reverence for the Sacred Being of all living things must speak out and up.   Each of you reading this have a voice that needs to be heard.

You see when something old falls apart, something new must take its place.  They go hand in hand.

The leaders of the world, for the most part, are very limited in consciousness and many border on insane.  We have lots of those running for President in the US right now.  How did this happen?  What is it reflecting?

It’s reflecting the evolution of humanity.  It’s looks very bad.  It is frightening if you only see the darkness, the hatred, the vengeance, the death.

So where is the Light?  It is inside you.  It is in your voice, your words, your heart.  It is in each of us.  And so is the darkness of fear.  We have all been wounded in our life.  But remember, the Light enters where we are wounded if we choose to bring Love to those places.

I believe that by doing the deep healing work of transforming your fears into Love, that you are an essential ingredient for healing the world.  Your Light is real.  Your wisdom is real.  But it is up to you to own it.  To speak it.  To live it in the world without caring what people think of you.

You see the world doesn’t work anymore as it is now structured.  The new structure involves many leaders not just a few.

I received such an inspiring email this week from a young woman I’ve worked with for a while now.  She has healed at a really deep level and she also writes beautiful spiritual messages.  She’s right at that point where her commitment to bring her own voice and Light into the world is pounding at her heart!  She told me “I have to speak my truth now”.

Each one of your voices matters so much.

I am committed to supporting the Light of your voice or the voice of your Light to be revealed in this crazy world that desperately needs it.
